Inspired by the SDG 13 Climate Action, 13 leading Swedish Climate Champions are presenting 13 Climate Challenges that need to be solved. We want to turn your ideas and skills into new Climate Startups that bring solutions to fight one of the biggest problems of our time.
Challenge Statement
Diet and food production must radically change to improve health and build the resilience of the biosphere. Feeding 10 billion people by 2050 with a healthy and sustainable diet will be impossible without transforming eating habits, improving food production, and reducing food waste. How can we solve this challenge?
Guidance on solving the challenge
Transforming how we produce and what we eat will require bold moves and experimentation. Innovations will need to push consumer values toward more sustainable and healthy diets while also have the potential to be replicated and scaled up to influence legislation and regulatory environments.

Also, the top ideas of each Climate Challenge will be selected to a special Climate Bootcamp where experienced coaches and mentors will deep dive into your business idea and offer you guidance forward. After the boot camp, the best teams and ideas are selected to join the Test Drive program by Sting x Norrsken. Finally, six carefully selected Climate Startups will continue into a new Sting Accelerator program providing tailored support. investment and a growth-boost to the most promising Climate Startups in Sweden.

For years, Antonio Vicente begged his neighbors to listen to his warning. The water in Pouso do Rochedo, Brazil, was going to disappear and, with it, so would the life in this piece of the rainforest. And he was right. But now, after dedicating the last 40 years to reforesting his land, the water is coming back…and it is all thanks to him.
The Great Green Wall is an African-led movement with an epic ambition to grow an 8,000 km natural wonder of the world across the entire width of Africa.
A decade in and roughly 15% underway, the initiative is already bringing life back to Africa’s degraded landscapes at an unprecedented scale, providing food security, jobs and a reason to stay for the millions who live along its path.
The Wall promises to be a compelling solution to the many urgent threats not only facing the African Continent, but the global community as a whole – notably climate change, drought, famine, conflict and migration.
Once complete, the Great Green Wall will be the largest living structure on the planet, 3 times the size of the Great Barrier Reef.

The science is clear. Climate change is real. Climate change is happening now. Climate change requires immediate and ambitious action to prevent the worst effects it can have on people and wildlife all over the world.
We know that the planet has warmed by an average of nearly 1°C in the past century. If we are to prevent the worst effects of climate change, there is global agreement that temperature rises need to be kept well below 2°C from the pre-industrial era, with an ambition to keep it below 1.5°C. Currently, however, assessments suggest that we are currently on course for temperature rises of up to as much as 4°C or higher.
