Concept kinetic generator in the form of a film to recharge gadgets
.
To us have repeatedly demonstrated the developments, which are able to collect kinetic energy from the movements of the person, than to continue to use it to recharge portable and other gadgets.
It seems that the staff at Michigan State University have progressed the furthest in establishing such a system. This is the so-called bio-compatible nano ferro-electric generator, which is very flexible and is not thicker than a sheet of paper. Engineers have managed to carry out a successful test with the invention. The device in the form of a film could provide power flexible keyboard, 20 LED lights and touch screen – the latter worked from touching of a finger or pressing on the film.
The device consists of a silicon wafer on which the stacked layers of biocompatible materials such as silver and polymeric foam with ferromagnetic and piezoelectric properties. Each layer was further saturated with metal ions, such that in each layer of the system containing the charged particles.
Electricity is produced in such a system for any mechanical action – for example, from touching of a finger.Future technology Concept kinetic generator in the form of a film to recharge gadgets FENG has a very compact size and thickness of a sheet of paper. Folded several times, it starts automatically generate electricity. The device of FENG, folded in several layers, can, for example, be integrated in the sole of the shoe – and then he turns into a generator that is activated, as soon as person takes a step. Now scientists are working on a device that can be mounted in the shoes, and that will transmit electricity to the wireless hand-held devices.
Portable Pen projector
The Portable Pen projector is as powerful as any other projector, but it’s far more compact and intelligent. The projector is encased in a stainless steel container and comes with many neat features like Bluetooth and an LED system. So, with this Portable Pen Projector, you no longer have to worry about lugging around a heavy projector device to show off pictures of your vacation or to present an assignment. I only wonder if this pen can write too?

Japan will build a robotic moon base
There’s no technological reason why Japan shouldn’t be able to move forward with its ambitious plan to build a robotic lunar outpost by 2020 — built by robots, for robots. In fact, there’s really no nation better for the job in terms of technological prowess.
The Institute for the Future’s Mike Liebhold says, “There are private launch vehicles that are probably capable of doing that, and I think the robotics by that point are going to be quite robust.”
PopSci
Predicts: Technologically possible, but economics will be the deciding factor.
Bendable screens, new materials, and augmented reality
Bendable screens, new materials, and augmented reality may all be contributing factors in the next wave of technology hardware design. Phones could start looking like wallets with folding screens, and TVs may be as thin as paper and transportable by simply rolling them up and taking them with you. We may even start seeing this next wave of products as early as 2019.

Will Today’s Kids Be Stumped by the Technology of the Future?
.
If it sticks to its current cycle, Apple will proudly release iPhone 24 in the year 2050. An executive in hologram form will waltz onto the keynote stage in San Francisco to proclaim that the company’s sleek new brain implant has the world’s fastest and most usable neural interface on the market. Crazed young
people will converge outside Apple stores in nano-assembled tents and vie to be the first to stuff the technology into their craniums.
But what about the adults of 2050? And what about the elderly? If they’re anything like today’s Americans, they may not be so eager to purchase the new device. Today, older Americans are less engaged with technology than the rest of the population, lagging behind by more than 25 percentage points when it comes to Internet adoption. Middle-aged adults, too, are slower to take up new gadgets:
58 percent of American 50-to-64-year-olds own a smartphone, compared to 86 percent of 18-to-29-year-olds.
To know whether our hypothetical tech user of the future will pick up an iPhone 24 and react with easy delight or total bewilderment, we must ask why many adults have trouble with technology as they get older. If there’s something inherent to aging that makes it difficult to understand the latest technology, then the latest gizmo will be as opaque to an adult living in 2050 as current technologies are to adults today. But if childhood exposure to a dizzying rate of technological change can inoculate you against deteriorating technology skills later in life, then the adults and seniors of the future may have a very
different experience.

Transportation systems of the future

OrbitalMaglev

Some future transport concepts have loftier goals that just getting us to the station on time. While space tourism based on more conventional rocket ships is a fast growing infant, there are also plans afoot to use “space trains” to launch passengers into orbit.
Like the EET discussed above, the Startram system would use a superconducting, magnetically levitating train capsule in a vacuum tube. The difference here is that the final 12 miles (20 km) of the 1,000 mile (1,609 km) long track would point upwards, launching the “carriage” into low earth orbit. If that’s not futuristic enough, the plan sees the skywards pointing launch tube itself being held in place by magnetic levitation!
Conceived by Dr. George Maise along with one of the inventors of superconducting maglev, Dr. James Powell, the potential of this system to significantly reduce the costs of putting commercial cargo (and space tourists) into orbit is attracting serious discussion.
Space Elevator
Another long standing and noteworthy concept that aims to democratize the process of getting off the planet is the space elevator. First theorized over 100 years ago, the idea of the space elevator is to use a cable tethered to a base station to send “climbers” into orbit at a fraction of the cost of rocket-based launch systems.
While there are a variety of designs, the key component of a working space elevator would be a thin tether made from lightweight material (carbon nanotubes are the prime candidate) that stretches from an anchor point or base station on or near the Earth’s equator to a point some 60,000 miles (96,560 km) into space. The Earth’s rotation and a counterweight on the upper end of the cable would keep the line taught and climbers (likely powered by solar energy) traveling at fast train pace would be sent up this futuristic beanstalk to deliver cargo and people into orbit and back.
According to the International Space Elevator Consortium (ISEC), the cost of transporting cargo in this way “will be significantly reduced in price to the realm of dollars per kilogram compared with over $20,000 per kilogram today.”
This is an idea that could well become reality before the curtains are drawn on the 21st Century – in fact, Tokyo-based construction company Obayashi Corp. has stated plans to have a 96,000 kilometer (59,652 mile) space elevator capable of carrying 30 passengers at a time operational by 2050.

Hyperloop One took another major step on its path to defining the future of
transportation
Reveals Bold Vision For Autonomous Hyperloop System And First Designs For Hyperloop One Pods and Portals Signs Agreement With Dubai Roads and Transport Authority To Study High-Speed
Routes in the United Arab Emirates
Hyperloop One took another major step on its path to defining the future of transportation. The Company and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) agreed jointly to evaluate a Hyperloop One system in greater Dubai and the UAE. Hyperloop One will work with McKinsey & Co. and the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) on a detailed feasibility study sponsored by the RTA. The agreement moves the company into its next stage of progress in Dubai following a successful engagement in the Dubai Future Accelerators, which culminated in a presentation of Hyperloop One’s value proposition to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Additionally, Hyperloop One unveiled an original concept for autonomous transportation in the UAE, including designs for the world’s first Hyperloop One Portals (the equivalent of a station or airport) and Hyperloop One Pods that can take passengers from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes, compared to a two-hour drive. The work is the result of deep collaboration between Hyperloop One and BIG’s amazing team of architects and engineers. Both announcements were revealed at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
“Technology is evolving and transforming how we live, yet we lack real innovation in mass transportation and the current system has stagnated. Hyperloop One is focused on transport that’s far more efficient, fast and clean. It will change the dynamics of how we move goods and people,” said Shervin Pishevar, Executive Chairman, Hyperloop One. “Dubai makes perfect sense for Hyperloop One because this is the 21st century’s global transport hub and its leaders understand that Hyperloop One is ushering in the next era of transportation.”
Under the terms the agreement, Hyperloop One will work with McKinsey and BIG to evaluate the implementation of a passenger Hyperloop in Dubai. This announcement is the second partner agreement Hyperloop One has signed in Dubai and the sixth worldwide. The Company announced a deal in August to pursue a cargo Hyperloop One system with ports operator DP World at its deepwater Jebel Ali port in Dubai. The Company’s growing presence on the ground in the UAE underscores the demand for Hyperloop One technology for passengers and freight in the country.
Chairman of the RTA, His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, commented on the agreement, saying, “This is an opportunity to help transform the UAE from a technology consumer to a technology creator, incubating expertise for a new global industry, in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021. With Hyperloop One, we will create a new means of transportation, keeping our region at the forefront of transportation technology and innovation.”
Hyperloop One: Vision for the Future of Mobility
Conceptual Vision
The engineers, architects and designers from Hyperloop One and BIG have collaborated intensively for six months to produce a comprehensive human experience for Hyperloop travel. The Company is showcasing today the first-ever routes from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, several Portal sites throughout Dubai and the conceptual interiors and exteriors of the individual passenger Pods. The work is based on a detailed study of how an urban and inter-city transport network should integrate with the existing infrastructure. It’s autonomous, point-to-point and vastly simplifies the experience of getting from your front door to your destination.
“We’re going to create a seamless experience that starts the moment you think about being somewhere – not going somewhere,” said Josh Giegel, President of Engineering, Hyperloop One. “We don’t sell cars, boats, trains, or planes. We sell time. This puts an end to us being a ‘pod-in-a-tube’ or ‘fast train from SF to LA’ company.”
“With Hyperloop One we have given form to a mobility ecosystem of pods and portals, where the waiting hall has vanished along with waiting itself,” says Bjarke Ingels, founder, BIG. “Collective commuting with individual freedom at near supersonic speed. We are heading for a future where our mental map of the city is completely reconfigured, as our habitual understanding of distance and proximity time and space is warped by this virgin form of travel.”
In less than two years, Hyperloop One has raised more than $160 million, assembled a team of more than 200 world-class experts, and built a campus in Downtown LA, a test and safety site in the Nevada desert, and a 100,000-sq. ft. machine and tooling shop in North Las Vegas. In addition, the Company has established a global partner network with industry leaders such as GE, SNCF, DP World, AECOM, Arup, Systra, Ramboll, and KPMG.
